Supported Audio Formats

Bratify accepts three audio formats: MP3, WAV, and M4A. If your file isn't uploading or the audio isn't playing, it's most likely a format issue — and it's easy to fix.

Supported Formats

• MP3 — works best, smallest file size, fastest to process. Use this if you can.
• WAV — works well, larger file size. Good if you're working with high quality originals.
• M4A — works on most browsers, common format from Apple devices and iTunes.

Formats That Don't Work

• OGG, FLAC, OPUS — not supported, convert to MP3 first
• MP4, MOV, AVI — these are video files, not audio. Extract the audio track first (see below)
• WMA — Windows Media Audio, convert to MP3
• AIFF — convert to WAV or MP3

How to Convert Audio to MP3

Online (no install needed)

The easiest option. Go to cloudconvert.com or zamzar.com, upload your file, choose MP3 as output format, download. Takes about 30 seconds.

Extract audio from a video file

If you have an MP4 or video file and want to use its audio — same thing. Upload to cloudconvert, convert MP4 → MP3, then upload the MP3 to Bratify. We don't currently support direct video uploads for audio, but this workaround takes under a minute.

On iPhone / iPad

Files downloaded from TikTok or Instagram are usually M4A which works fine. If you have AIFF from GarageBand, just export it as M4A from within the app before uploading.

On Android

Most audio recording apps save as MP3 or M4A — both work. If you're getting errors, try a free app like MP3 Converter from the Play Store.

File Size Limits

There's no hard file size limit, but larger files take longer to load in the browser. For best performance:

• MP3 at 128kbps is fine for most content — keeps files small
• If your file is over 50MB, consider trimming it before uploading
• You can trim audio inside Bratify after uploading — no need to edit beforehand

Audio Still Not Working?

Try these steps:

1. Convert to MP3 using an online tool
2. Refresh the page and try again
3. Try a different browser — Chrome works best
4. Close other tabs to free up memory (large audio files need browser memory)
5. Make sure the file isn't corrupted — try playing it in a media player first
